Kenninghall Primary School, Norfolk 2013
Stainless steel, laser cut 3x1.5m
The commissioned sign and metal drawing was developed from workshops with school pupils and the wider community. They contributed memories about the village and the children made drawings of the environment. The results were collaged together and translated into a stanless steel sign and frieze. The children were involved in the whole design process, we worked on a 1:1 scale paper roll and placed the individual drawings, they were then glued and made into a digital file for cutting. The intention was to keep the character of individual hand-drawn lines in the cutting of the metal.
