Jo Chapman

Jo Chapman is a UK-based site-specific artist whose practice spans sculpture, drawing, installation, and ceramics. Originally trained in Embroidery at Birmingham School of Art, Jo brings a tactile and process-driven approach to her work moving between the boundaries of sculpture, drawing and architecture.

With over 25 years of experience, she has delivered major public art commissions across the UK and internationally, including in France, India, Iceland, and Ireland. Her recent commissions include Ascent for Thames Tideway in London, ChalkStack in Ebbsfleet Garden City, and Timekeeper in Cambridge. Jo is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and an Associate Artist at the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich.

Jo’s work has been exhibited widely, including at the London Art Fair, Kettles Yard, and the International Festival des Jardins in Chaumont, France. She has undertaken residencies at Wysing Arts Centre, Firstsite, and most recently the Fish Factory in Iceland. Her practice is grounded in research, collaboration, and an enduring curiosity about materials and their role in shaping the environments we live in.

She lives and works in Suffolk, UK.
